Wellness, is indeed an art which could be taught. Embracing Wellness as our value in life and in our daily living habit shall be the first step towards achieving optimum health and reaping a high quality of life. Illness, on the other hand, is basically a pure science which could be learnt. The lessons are often painful - physically, emotionally and financially.
Undoubtedly, Wellness Services is more cost-effective than Illness Services. It is an inevitable economic phenomenon that the cost of Medical Treatments (at Hospitals and Clinics) is increasing rapidly; with medical insurance premium rising in tandem. Cost Containment measures and Utilization Management could only curtail the hyper-inflationary medical cost with little impact.
In short, avoidance or minimization of Illness through pursuit of Wellness would be a wiser approach in addressing this universal issue.
